Persona Survivor Ch.2

The First Day pt.2

At the end of the day as the other students start leaving the school grounds, Hiroto stands around staring at the image on his phone of the 'Death Video'. He looks at the corpses of him and his friends as the words from his dream flow through his mind.

            "Survive." He says to himself seriously. "Seriously this must be some kind of joke, this can't really be happening, can it?"

            "Yo Hiroto." Yu says walking behind him grabbing his shoulder. "We should be getting back class Ms. Kazumi is going to start lecturing us soon and we're in enough trouble as it is, plus Haruhi's already there so we should hurry or they'll both be pissed."

            "Yeah." He says nervously.

            "So are you going to tell me what's on your mind?"

            "Sorry, but no."

            "Fine, if you're not going to talk then let's walk."

            "Right."

Meanwhile elsewhere in the school a girl sits around looking at her cell phone before opening up the 'Death Video' app. She plays the video with Hiroto, Yu, and Haruhi dying against a mysterious foe. She sighs before putting the phone away and looking out of a nearby window.

            "I see, I imagined something bad was happening soon from last night, but what we're facing now is unprecedented." She says seriously looking down at her phone. "I hope, no I must change it I have to change the future."

She stares at the phone before looking in the back of the room and staring at a katana sitting next to the wall.

            "I have to survive after all." She says seriously reaching out for it.

Elsewhere Hiroto, Yu, and Haruhi sitting in a classroom with Ms. Kazumi standing in front of them in front of a chalkboard. She lectures the trio for a while as they fake interest forcing themselves to pay attention to her ranting.

            "Now then, onto your homework." She says seriously finishing her lecture. "You three are getting special treatment and you'll have to have review work for all of your classes."

            "Oh come on, that's way too much." Haruhi yells out annoyed. "We already have plenty of homework to do for the other classes."

            "Well maybe next time you will consider coming on time." She says seriously before adjusting her glasses.

Suddenly all of their phones start to ring loudly as they look on curiously. "What's this?" Hiroto asks concerned.

            "It's inappropriate for you three to have your phones on you on school grounds." She says pulling out her phone. "But for today I'll overlook this...."

They all look at their phones with a grim look on their faces. "I'm reporting here in the middle of town where a large explosion has occurred only moments ago." A reporter says on the phones with a large smoking crater behind them. "Hey wait there appears to be something..."

As everyone looks on a large figure appears in the air above the crater in the midst of the smoke. Suddenly it jumps forward latching onto the reporter and then crushing them inside of it before turning towards the cameraman.

The footage ends as everyone sits around stunned and Ms. Kazumi looks at them. "Stay there I'm going to....."

Suddenly a figure bursts through the window latching onto Ms. Kazumi and crushing her within itself. Haruhi screams horrified, as the blobby figure starts moving with a face similar to Ms. Kazumi's appears on it and it begins turning towards them.

            "What the hell, what is that thing!?" She asks horrified.

            "Run, just run!" Yu yells out grabbing her hand. "Hiroto run now!"

            "Right." Hiroto says nervously.

The trio rush from the room as the creature starts charging after them with multiple hands begin emerging from its form. They turn a corner and find more of the creatures latching onto and crushing people within itself.

            "What the hell." Yu says stunned.

            Wait a second, this is, this is just like the video from this morning. Hiroto thinks to himself stunned. I have to do something, I have to try anything, I don't I don't want to die!

            Thou cling to life. A voice says in Hiroto's head.

            "What was that?" Hiroto asks holding his head.

The creatures start charging towards the trio as Yu grabs Haruhi and rushes down another hallway. Hiroto attempts to give chance but grabs onto his head unable to keep his balance. After a moment a creature falls from above attempting to latch onto him.

            I have to Survive this, no matter what! He thinks to himself seriously.

Just before the creature latches onto him a figure bursts forth from behind him knocking it back onto the ground as it shatters apart. Hiroto looks back and sees a floating almost mechanical being with white hair and a harp on its back.

            "What the, what are you?" He asks confused.

            Thou art I...And I am Thou...From the sea of thy soul I cometh...I am Orpheus, master of strings... A voice says flowing into his head.

            "Orpheus?" He asks confused.

The figure fades away as the creatures start to turn away from him moving towards other parts of the school. "They aren't attacking me? Wait Yu and Haruhi, where'd they go?" He asks confused looking around for them.

Elsewhere Yu and Haruhi run down the hallways attempting to avoid the creatures. After a moment when they believe it is safe the stop to catch their breath.

            "What is going on?" She asks confused. "What are these things?"

            "Don't know but at least we managed to....." Yu looks around before noticing Hiroto's disappearance. "Hiroto's not here."

            "Ban-Kun?" Haruhi looks around before noticing his disappearance as well. "What do we do? He's probably back there or..."

            "No, I'm going back there, I've got to find him." Yu steps forward before she grabs his arm stopping him.

            "I'm not letting you go alone, if you're going I'm going."

            "Haruhi, it's danger......"

Suddenly a faceless creature drops down from above landing in front of the two. It's blobby frame starts moving towards them as Yu puts Haruhi behind him. Tendrils shoot out of its body, but before it can reach them a bolt of lightning comes down killing it as it fades away into nothingness.

            "What the?" Yu asks confused.

They look on and see a girl wearing their uniform, with long black hair, and a cross shaped scar on her cheek, wielding a sheathed katana step in front of them. She looks at the two before pulling out her cell phone.

            "It looks like I've managed to do it." She says as the video fades away. "So the future can be changed."

            "Yu! Haruhi!" Hiroto's voice screams out from close by.

Hiroto catches up to the group with, Orpheus floating behind him. spotting the girl before noticing something floating behind her. A tall creature clad in a large leather jacket and wielding a large naginata.

            "So you can see it?" She asks curiously stepping in front of Hiroto. "Because I can see yours, you also have a Persona."

            "A Persona?"

            "There's no time to explain." She says unsheathing her sword and pointing ahead. "Here they come."

A large figure starts charging towards them as Hiroto looks on nervously. "What is that, they weren't attacking me before, why now?"

            "The ones from before were just looking for a host but this one is one that's truly hostel towards everyone." She says seriously. "Now get ready, I'll need back up."

            "Wait a minute!" Hiroto yells out as the figure reaches them. "Well it can wait."
