RBG Arc Ch.43: Wrath of the Legendary Birds

Inside of the remains of the Silph Building Red rushes around trying to find any sign of the others. After a moment of a group of Grunts surrounds him and toss out their Poke'balls with a variety of Pokémon popping out and charging towards Red. Suddenly Pikachu leaps up into the air and shoots out a burst of electricity that hits all of the Pokémon and knocks them out as the Grunts start to run off in terror.

            "Well hopefully those will be the last few Grunts on this floor, I should get back to finding Blue and Lady Ninja." Pikachu climbs onto Red's shoulder as he starts walking off. "But this building really is huge, this place could take forever to search."

            "It's talk like that, that's what makes people think you're a country bumpkin." Lady Ninja descends from above landing in front of Red with a sly grin. "Of course mind you, they're not wrong, but you could at least put forth some effort into trying to disprove them."

            "Sorry, but I've never been inside a building this big."

            "Whatever, did you save the scientist?"

            "Yeah, then I fought against one of the Rocket Bosses, who was actually a General. I barely managed to win, but then he set off an explosive that took out a whole floor."

            "So that was one of you two fools, well at least your not too hurt. How're your Pokémon?"

            "They were a little banged up from the fight, but I found a healing machine and healed them up." Red pets Pikachu as he looks ahead and starts walking off. "So how was your mission?"

            "Good, I deactivated the Signal Booster that was allowing them to control so many Pokémon, and the person behind the Hypnosis. Basically, I'm awesome." She says matter of factly. "Now we just have to find Blue and get outta town."

            "Well, I'm here." Blue appears huddled over as Lord Oak holds him up keeping his balance. "Had a bit of a rough spot, got a little poisoned, but I succeeded. The People of Pallet Town were found and protected."

            "Come now Blue, it's best that you rest. You've been through a lot." Lord Oak says seriously.

Red stops in his tracks and walks up to Lord Oak. "Lord Oak, it is good to see you well." He bows quickly and lowers himself to the ground as Lady Ninja looks on with a grin.

            "Red, raise yourself. I'm just as glad to see you as you are to see me, maybe even more so."

            "It's just that, I failed, my Dad failed, my family failed we couldn't protect anyone." Red begins to cry as everyone looks on. "Blue was right, we're failures and it's our fault that Pallet Town, for these past six years you and everyone had to endure such suffering."

            "Red, it's because of your father that we managed to stay alive for these six years."

            "What!?"

Everyone looks on as Lord Oak clears his throat. "In the attack on Pallet Town, our normal defenses were overwhelmed. Your father stood his ground as long as he could but fought hard to assure that the emergency plan's success."

            "Emergency Plan?" Blue asks confused.

            "To make sure, Red, Blue, Green, and Daisy managed to get out of Pallet Town and would head to Cianwood City where the four of you would be safe. There you would grow up and eventually return to make Pallet new again, that was the plan at least, and it seems that it worked."

            "About that, Green's dead," Red says nervously. "And I've spent the last six years with my mother's relatives in Viridian City."

            "What? But your mother doesn't have relatives in Viridian City and Green is...."

Suddenly a loud explosion comes from up above as a massive bolt of electricity rains down from above in front of the group. Three loud screeches come from above as a trio of figures descend from the top of the building towards the streets below.

            "Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos." Lady Ninja says as Zapdos comes into view raining thunder down onto the city. "So it looks like someone let them out and now they're wreaking havoc."

            "What happened?" Red asks concerned. "Shouldn't they just fly off and go back home?"

            "No, someone has angered them and for that, they'll turn this city into a wasteland." Lord Oak says seriously staring at the birds. "We have to do something about them."

            "Why?" Blue forces himself up staring at the birds. "This whole town is infested by the Rocket Kingdom, shouldn't we let their town burn like ours did."

            "No." Red steps forward holding out a Poke'ball. "Even if the Rocket's did destroy our town, we should save them. They should face punishment, not death and besides there are innocent people down there I won't let them suffer too."

Red tosses out his Poke'ball with Aerodactyl popping out as it grabs onto Red and the pair charge ahead with Pikachu leaping onto it's back. "I'm going after Articuno, I fought it once before and I may be responsible for letting it get caught. I have to make it up to it."

            "In that case, I'll take Zapdos." Lady Ninja tosses out a Poke'ball with her Wigglytuff popping out before quickly expanding like a balloon as she grabs its leg. "It's close so that makes it easier to get to."

            "Fine then I'll handle Moltres, I can't have you two upstaging me." Blue tosses out a Poke'ball with is Arcanine popping out as he climbs onto it's back. "Grandfather, you stay here and watch yourself, there could be a few more Grunts around."

            "Don't worry, I'll be fine. You go out there and save everyone, make me proud."

            "If I have to," Blue says with a sly grin. "Let's go Arcanine!"

The two charge head into the city streets as Lord Oak stairs into the night's sky as the three birds continue rampaging across the city. "I hope those three will be okay, these Pokémon are known as Legends for a reason. They're power trumps any Pokémon we've discovered to date, and it would be a shame to lose the three of them after having them come together again."

Meanwhile, at the top of the Silph building, a figure watches on with a large grin as Red charges in towards Articuno. They use a pair of binoculars and notice Blue and Lady Ninja taking on their respective bird as he grins excitedly.

            "Good Red, you've found the path." They say happily, putting the binoculars away as they look onto the ensuing chaos. "Now walk down it, so you can one day return to my side, my dear student."
