Ch.48: Return to the Digital World

In the middle of the Digital World, outside of a large tree, a small number of Digimon charge forward as a number of Gizumon stand awaiting them. The Digimon attack the hordes, with their attacks bouncing off the wall of Gizumon as they float around unresponsive.

            “This is boring,” Terry says annoyed watching the ongoing battle. “Ian was right, this atmosphere doesn’t feel right for unleashing the final boss monster, and it feels like we’re just attacking the start town.”

            “Yes this is quite disappointing, but we must move on unless….” Merry grins happily looking back as Patamon floats around the area. “Unless dear Patamon’s little message got out and managed to wrangle in a few fish.”

            “Yeah little guy, someone better show up and give us a fun time!” Terry glares at Patamon barely restraining herself from attacking it. “If you don’t then I’m going to take my rage out on you.”

Patamon flinches as Ian walks over and pats Patamon on the head. “Don’t worry Patamon; I won’t let anyone get their hands on my dear Partner.”

            “Ian.” Patamon looks on nervously quickly turning its eyes away.

            “You tried you best to make things more interesting, it’s not your fault if no one shows up.” Ian grins happily turning towards the other two. “Now where is Yuan?”

            “He got bored and decided to scout the area, I don’t blame him. Maybe he could find one of two brave Digimon who managed to pierce a hole in our defense?” Terry sighs jumping up and stretching her legs. “Maybe I should go and join him; maybe punching something would help my mood?”

            “Well dear you’re always upset so I don’t imagine anything will help,” Merry says jokingly.

            “Shut it!”

As the group stands around Merry turns her attention up towards the sky. “Ian, I think Patamon’s message got out.”

            “How can you….” Terry grins happily as she looks up to the sky. “Here they come!”

Elsewhere in the forest Yuan sits around before snapping up and looking up towards the sky. “No!” He falls to the ground slamming his fist. “No this can’t be happening, why, why on earth would they come back here!?”

Ian pulls out his tablet as he grins happily with the number of dots appearing on screen. “It looks like they are coming, the Tamers and their Digimon. They’re coming to take back this world, but they shall serve as our final challenge and then we will go to the final boss!”

            They came, they really came! Patamon thinks to itself happily floating into the air. I’m sure of it; I’m sure one of them can beat Ian and stop all of this.

Patamon floats higher into the sky with a large grin on its face as Terry looks on still glaring at Patamon. “So what’re we still doing here? Let’s get in there and crush them!”

            “Not just yet, let’s just show them the might of our new Gizumon units. It shall serve as a test for our ultimate enemy.”

On the edge of the forest, Raine stands around alongside Odonamon with Talulla and Teddymon standing by her side. In a moment Talulla snaps her fingers as Teddymon opens up its stomach revealing a dark blue colored large dress that Talulla slips on with a grin on her face.

            “It feels good to be back in my own clothes,” Talulla says happily leaping around. “Now if only I could return to my old height.”

            “Whatever, let’s just get moving and find the remaining Digimon.”

            “Alright, let’s go save the world.”

            “Save the world, just the two of you?” A voice comes from behind the pair. “Come now, don’t underestimate my abilities, if you wanted to win then you could’ve just called me.”

Raine looks on as Orla walks out of the tree limbs with Varanomon at her side. Both smile happily as they walk up to the two as Orla rushes to Raine’s side.

            “Honestly you should’ve called, I was coming here anyway.” She says happily.

            “Well first I don’t have your number, secondly I knew you’d be here anyway so best not waste the phone call,” Raine says with a grin on her face. “Now let’s get ready, we’ve got a war to fight.”

            “Oh a war, I can’t wait.” She says with her grin somehow becoming wider.

Elsewhere in the forest Jager wander around with Lupusmon by his side looking around cautiously as they try to avoid enemies. After a while, a figure flies over their head before Strigimon lands on the tree limb in front of them looking down onto the pair.

            “It’s good to see you two again,” Strigimon says happily. “I was wondering if you were going to return or turn tail and run.”

            “We’d never turn tail, the Digital World is in danger and now we’ve come to protect our world,” Lupusmon says moving under Strigimon. “I thought that you would be out trying to learn instead of coming here?”

            “Well at first we were studying, and then we got that message and rushed out to save the day.” Walter walks out of the forest looking onto the pair with a grin on his face. “I was so happy I got tired of studying with all of this going on.”

            “Speak for yourself.” Able walks up behind him annoyed by the goings on. “I’m sick and tired of this mess and those weird Digimon creatures, I want to get everything back to normal and make some money!”

            “That’s right!” Tanukimon yells out landing on the ground. “Let’s get this stupid battle over with!”

            “Well whatever, having you two isn’t exactly what I’d call reassuring, but you're both better than nothing.” Jager grins happily looking onto the pair. “So are you both ready to run into something that’s almost guaranteed to get us killed?”

            “Might as well.” The pair says in unison.

As everyone starts gathering Ian sits around in the middle of his camp, staring at his tablet as everyone stands around him looking nervously. “Now everyone let the second round begin!”
